Ministry Survey

                            Standing church committees and their assigned responsibilities:

 Benevolence Committee - Provides for persons in need as commanded by Matt 25:31-46.  The meeting of these physical needs is to express to our community that the church cares about the needs of the poor and that this expression is an extension of God’s love for them.

 Church Admin Council - Controls, acquires and supervises the physical property, both real and personal, of the church.

 CLC Gym Usage Committee – responsible for overseeing the use of the CLC by teams who wish to use our facility,  Proposed 

Decorations Committee - Responsible for the decorating needs of the church. 

Endowment Committee - Ensures the monies invested with the Georgia Baptist Foundation are being handled properly and provide a good return on investment.  Provides education on estate planning and how members may provide for future church growth after their death.

 Finance Committee - Supervises expenditure of all funds of the church.  Develops, recommends and promotes an overall stewardship information plan for the church.

 History Committee - Collects and preserves all vital church records of the past and makes them available for use.

 Hospitality Committee - Assists the church in preparing for church-wide events to promote the fellowship of the church.

 House and Grounds Committee - Maintains and oversees upkeep of all church-owned buildings, equipment, and grounds.

 Leadership Search Committee - Coordinates the staffing of all church elected leadership positions including church officers, program directors, committees, and Sunday School teachers filled by volunteers 

Little Learning Depot Committee - Administers the Little Learning Depot and serves as liaison between the church and the Little Learning Depot to include efforts to lead these families into the life of the church. 

Lord’s Supper Committee - Assists the Pastor in preparing the ordinance and works behind the scenes to ensure the smoothness and dignity of that ordinance.

 Missions Committee – Responsible for researching, planning and promoting possible trips for SHBC adults.  (Proposed)

 Money-Counting Committee - Receives, counts, and deposits all monies received through Sunday offerings.

 Personnel Committee - Assists the church in all matters related to human resources policies, including staff needs, employment, salaries, benefits, and personnel services.  The committee is to be familiar with all federal and state personnel regulations. 

Recreation Committee – Supervises all recreation activities of the church relating to team sports, special fellowship activities, and other programs including special recreation events and opportunities. 

Transportation Committee - Ensures that all transportation needs of the church are properly planned and that church vehicles (to include the golf carts) are well maintained and safe for travel.

 Wedding Committee - Ensures all weddings held at the church follow church policies.  This committee is to help the church be wedding-friendly while protecting the sanctuary and decorum of the church. 

Women’s Ministry Committee - Promotes all aspects of women’s ministry at SHBC.  This committee helps the church minister to women of all ages and all interests.
